Escape from New York

Sunrise to sunset with three MINIs at New York’s Bear Mountain State Park. Their small sizes are ideal for zipping through city traffic, and even more fun to escape from it to the twisty mountain roads. MINI is a brand that speaks to drivers who take the scenic route. From the LED Union Jack tailights to the panoramic sunroof, to the plethora of options, these little cars pack loads of character. My buddy Will Keown brought his RED camera and put together a highlight reel from the day.

Amelia Island Winning 1967 Porsche 911S

Good ‘ol editorial work. I’ve said before that commercial/advertising work makes me tall, and editorial/lifestyle photography keeps me sharp. This assignment for the Porsche Club of America is the epitome of going back to my roots and using just a camera with natural light. I love shooting for the PCA because the only instructions I get from them are “here’s the owner’s number of the Porsche 911S, now go take great pics”. But this assignment was exceptionally special.

Leh Keen’s Safari 911

Introducing Leh Keen‘s brainchild Safari 911. Young professional race driver Leh is needing less and less of an introduction over the years. So much that he has his own Wikipedia page. Usually the first thing that comes to mind when trying to evoke how incredible Leh is at his craft, I point to the video Rain Dance… After watching that, I realized why top racecar drivers get paid the big bucks.

Hisense NASCAR Photoshoot

Hisense, the leading TV brand in China, and No. 4 seller of TVs worldwide, are targeting early adopters in the U.S. as it seeks to become No. 3 globally in the near future. NASCAR, one of the most beloved and iconic sports in the U.S., became a primary target to spread the brand name. With acclaimed racecar driver Denny Hamlin behind the wheel, the #20 Hisense car took 1st place in their inaugural race… this whole driver-winning-after-photoshoot trend can no longer be deemed a coincidence.

OhYeah! Moment Photoshoot

From the dirt roads of North Carolina and Kentucky, to an air-conditioned gym with lots-o-lights. I got the green light from OhYeah! Nutrition to shoot their upcoming campaign featuring “weekend warriors” having an OhYeah! Moment. To say these athletes are weekend warriors is a bit misleading, considering they can all probably beat me in arm wrestling with their pinky finger.

The Bachman Ferrari Collection

Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian mountain chain resides Phil Bachman. He is a man that lives in the South, where trucks are regarded as luxury items, and a weekend of going muddin’ is to many equivalent to the Concours d’Elegance. To say the least, if you’re a common person living in the charming South, you are lucky to see a dozen Ferraris in your lifetime. Despite the unicorn-like rarity of a Ferrari in his region, that didn’t stop him from filling his garage with upwards of 40 immaculate archival offsprings from Maranello. How could this be in Tennessee!? This is on the same possibility scale of stumbling upon Ross Brawn and Flavio Briatore flinging a perfect 300 at the local hole-in-the-wall bowling alley.

Jeff Gordon & Kasey Kahne: Go-Kart Challenge Photoshoot BTS

Pepsi has been on a roll with their advertising lately, and again I’m excited to be a part of their latest project with NASCAR drivers Jeff Gordon and Kasey Kahne… and whew, what an action-packed day!! My main job was to grab on-location studio shots of Jeff and Kasey, but I would also be running and gunning around the GoPro Motorplex afterwards for action shots. So, I had to quickly switch my brain from studio, to journalism.

Handmade 2014 Promo Mailer

Nearly 4 years have passed since my previous mailer. And let me tell you, a LOT has happened since then. My photography has matured, received more work, and made connections with bigger clients such as Mercedes-Benz, BMW, Pepsi, KFC, Porsche, STA-BIL, Harley-Davidson, etc. And now, I felt the time has come to accumulate my latest work and show it off… but if you know me, I don’t do simple.
