Leh Keen’s Safari 911

Introducing Leh Keen‘s brainchild Safari 911. Young professional race driver Leh is needing less and less of an introduction over the years. So much that he has his own Wikipedia page. Usually the first thing that comes to mind when trying to evoke how incredible Leh is at his craft, I point to the video Rain Dance… After watching that, I realized why top racecar drivers get paid the big bucks.

Hisense NASCAR Photoshoot

Hisense, the leading TV brand in China, and No. 4 seller of TVs worldwide, are targeting early adopters in the U.S. as it seeks to become No. 3 globally in the near future. NASCAR, one of the most beloved and iconic sports in the U.S., became a primary target to spread the brand name. With acclaimed racecar driver Denny Hamlin behind the wheel, the #20 Hisense car took 1st place in their inaugural race… this whole driver-winning-after-photoshoot trend can no longer be deemed a coincidence.

Mercedes-Benz Sprinter 4×4 Retouching

To supplement the campaign I shot for Mercedes-Benz Sprinter Canada, I was also called upon to piece together images for the newer unreleased 4×4 model… Welcome to the treasure trove of before/after Photoshop work. I found a handy-dandy plugin to easily compare before/after, which was present in a few of my previous blog posts, but this time I went a little overboard. Do you mind???? I didn’t think so.

Panorama: OEM Plus 2012 Porsche 911

Shooting for the Porsche Club of America is always a breath of fresh air. Usually the shoot involves natural lighting, with little to no frills. I see it as planned journalism, with minimal attention to artificial light. The same goes for editing. Even though the editing looks extensive in the below before/after images, it’s basically adjusting color temperature and pumping natural colors.

Car And Driver Feature: McLaren 650S + WAZE

If you’re familiar with my previous Bachman Ferrari Collection feature, you know that I don’t get to see many exotic cars where I live in South Carolina. So when Car And Driver asked if I could sit shotgun in a bright orange McLaren 650S blasting across the Florida everglades, I fried a few brain fuses.

Car And Driver Feature: Whiskey Rebellion

Welcome to the wonderful South.
The land where overalls are considered formal, dogs are commonly in the family will, and running moonshine is a national pastime that grew into a multi-billion dollar sport. Yep. Let’s not forget about grits… mmmmmmmmmmm grits, and of course diabetic-inducing sweet tea!

This Car and Driver assignment took me from the dirt roads of Eastern NC, through the Kentucky Bourbon Trail, then finishing at their offices to deliver the… um, flavored bottles of water. It was a great throwback to the old age of moonshine running, where the cars doing the transporting weren’t exactly flashy, but had the muscle under the hood in case the fuzz got a whiff of what’s in the trunk. And if the coppers get a good sniff, the Lingenfelter-blown Chevy SS has a pretty good chance of… um, merging into traffic faster. Let’s make that a 3.7 second 0-to-legal-60mph to be exact.

Car and Driver feature: Rock Bouncing in the hills of Arkansas

Trees are your best friends” was the first bit of advice for my inaugural assignment with Car and Driver. And no, that advice wasn’t given by a tree-hugging hippie with a curly fro, it was from the veteran videographer from MadRam11, the media leader in all things that involve 600+hp machines, big-ass vertical rocks, and mayhem… emphasis on mayhem. “Trees are your best friend because you can hide behind them when a rock bouncer gets out of control, which isn’t uncommon” he says. I quickly made friends with the biggest, sturdiest trees in Arkansas, for this was the 2014 Southern Rock Racing Series Finals… where the word “Finals”, translates to “let’s break as many parts on the last event of the year as possible”.

The Bachman Ferrari Collection

Nestled in the heart of the Appalachian mountain chain resides Phil Bachman. He is a man that lives in the South, where trucks are regarded as luxury items, and a weekend of going muddin’ is to many equivalent to the Concours d’Elegance. To say the least, if you’re a common person living in the charming South, you are lucky to see a dozen Ferraris in your lifetime. Despite the unicorn-like rarity of a Ferrari in his region, that didn’t stop him from filling his garage with upwards of 40 immaculate archival offsprings from Maranello. How could this be in Tennessee!? This is on the same possibility scale of stumbling upon Ross Brawn and Flavio Briatore flinging a perfect 300 at the local hole-in-the-wall bowling alley.

Pepsi Max 2014 NASCAR Shoot

I love shooting cars, and I LOVE shooting people… So combine the 2 with a 900hp racecar and a *slightly* well-known multi-championship NASCAR driver Jeff Gordon, and you have a very happy Clint. Pepsi has been on fire recently with their brilliant Disguise campaign… Basically dressing up famous athletes as regulars and surprising the unlucky victims. Uncle Drew and Test Drive 2 went viral instantly, for good reason!

2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter campaign

6 days, 6 fresh all-new 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinters, and 1 rainy week in an absurdly friendly city named Halifax, Canada = all most of the images you see below. I was the lucky chosen one to shoot the 2014 Mercedes-Benz Sprinter lineup for North America, more specifically Mercedes-Benz Canada… in the most friendly Canadian city there is. Besides some of the best seafood I’ve ever eaten, this city packs some of the most picturesque places I’ve ever visited, and did I mention the people here are friendly??? The stereotypes about Canada are true!
