Personally, few assignments inspire and excite me as much as 000 Magazine… a sentiment that is surely shared by the select few contributors to the no-compromise passion project helmed by Pete Stout. 000 is a robust publication that directly respects and reflects the contributing artists. When a magazine prints a giant dual-page spread of stitching detail of a normally obscure seat, it shows the level of devotion to the craft shared by the original designers themselves. When flipping through the immersive 20-30 oversized page features, it feels as if you’re there. And of course, the writing is equally as impressive with incredibly detailed research and expert insight. So, without surprise, I am deeply honored to grace the cover of issue 005. …

The Small Silver Car That Changed Everything
Let’s cut to the chase and bring up the two points that are the most paramount to this blog post…
1. This very 1993 Porsche Boxster Concept is highly regarded to saving Porsche from bankruptcy.
2. 000 Magazine, with Pete Stout at the helm, is cut from the same thread as a unicorn’s mane.…
Amelia Island Winning 1967 Porsche 911S
Good ‘ol editorial work. I’ve said before that commercial/advertising work makes me tall, and editorial/lifestyle photography keeps me sharp. This assignment for the Porsche Club of America is the epitome of going back to my roots and using just a camera with natural light. I love shooting for the PCA because the only instructions I get from them are “here’s the owner’s number of the Porsche 911S, now go take great pics”. But this assignment was exceptionally special.…
Leh Keen’s Safari 911
Introducing Leh Keen‘s brainchild Safari 911. Young professional race driver Leh is needing less and less of an introduction over the years. So much that he has his own Wikipedia page. Usually the first thing that comes to mind when trying to evoke how incredible Leh is at his craft, I point to the video Rain Dance… After watching that, I realized why top racecar drivers get paid the big bucks.…
Panorama: OEM Plus 2012 Porsche 911
Shooting for the Porsche Club of America is always a breath of fresh air. Usually the shoot involves natural lighting, with little to no frills. I see it as planned journalism, with minimal attention to artificial light. The same goes for editing. Even though the editing looks extensive in the below before/after images, it’s basically adjusting color temperature and pumping natural colors.…
2014 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet
Back to Charlotte, NC to shoot yet another GMP Performance car fresh out of the shop doors. This time it is a brand new 2014 Porsche 911 Carrera 4S Cabriolet on a set of HRE P43SC wheels. All of that is fancy talk for “sleekest car in the neighborhood”… and Charlotte has a pretty high standard of neighborhoods. Very excited to add HRE Wheels to my list of clients, with many more shoots to come.…
Dario Franchitti and his Porsche 911 hot rod
Blankly staring at my flickering monitor, eating a PB&J sandwich, while listening to my favorite creative music (Ellie Goulding, Daft Punk, Kid Cudi, Lupe Fiasco), I simply can’t think of a witty fun way to begin this blog article. And it’s driving me crazy! Why is this happening?!? I got plenty of sleep last night, and it’s even raining outside so I’m not (that) tempted to ride my bike. Is it because this article is about Dario Franchitti, one of the most decorated racecar drivers in history?.. A truly humbling genuine man that is so accomplished, yet so modest and friendly, that it’s hard to evoke in words?.. Yea I think it has something to do with it.…
Excellence Cover Shoot: Porsche Turbo RSR
This Champion Motorsports Porsche Turbo RSR is going to be hard to beat for the title of best car that I’ve shot. It is arguably the fastest all-around AND most beautifully crafted street-legal car in the world. Beauty is subjective, but being the fastest is objective… and I can attest to the fact that this car is FAST! I like to call myself a speed freak, but even I had to check my manly regions to see if they were still there after a few hot laps in the passenger seat. Riding shotgun with Jared Cullop in a 600hp car that goes 0-60 in 2.6 seconds and corners like it has velcro for tires is a life-changing experience. It’s not all about the power; the suspension, aerodynamics, transmission, and power must all work in unison… and the team at Champion pieced this car together so well Captain Planet would be jealous.…
Featured: Excellence Magazine – 924 GTR
Not too often I get a legend in front of my camera. I’ve had the pleasure of shooting Rahsaan Bahati (The most accomplished black cyclist), Coach Dean Jones (Personal baseball coach and local hero), and Derrick Rose (NBA MVP). This time I got to shoot a legend made of metal, glass, rubber, mixed with a lot of blood sweat and tears.…
Featured: Excellence Magazine 935
Through a series of fortunate events, I have now climbed to a position of contributing to Excellence magazine, the most widely read independent Porsche magazine in the world. Very excited to say the least. There’s something that makes me tingle when I see my pictures printed in a nice magazine in a well designed layout (thanks John). Let’s also not forget Paul Krasusky who provided the words, very entertaining read… I suddenly have the urge to wear a fancy pinstrip suit with Piloti shoes and Cartier sunglasses.…
