Meet the Cadillac XT4

Meet the all-new XT4, Cadillac’s first-ever luxury compact SUV. New chassis, new engine, new segment for Cadillac. Considering these were touted as the first professional photos taken of the vehicle, I had to make sure they were sleek, classy, and eye-catching. The sly minds at Campbell Ewald had a vision of a dark grey XT4 framed by a similar dark background to highlight the new lines… but beyond that, they gave me full creative freedom to shoot and edit to my heart’s desire.

Hisense NASCAR Photoshoot

Hisense, the leading TV brand in China, and No. 4 seller of TVs worldwide, are targeting early adopters in the U.S. as it seeks to become No. 3 globally in the near future. NASCAR, one of the most beloved and iconic sports in the U.S., became a primary target to spread the brand name. With acclaimed racecar driver Denny Hamlin behind the wheel, the #20 Hisense car took 1st place in their inaugural race… this whole driver-winning-after-photoshoot trend can no longer be deemed a coincidence.

OhYeah! Moment Photoshoot

From the dirt roads of North Carolina and Kentucky, to an air-conditioned gym with lots-o-lights. I got the green light from OhYeah! Nutrition to shoot their upcoming campaign featuring “weekend warriors” having an OhYeah! Moment. To say these athletes are weekend warriors is a bit misleading, considering they can all probably beat me in arm wrestling with their pinky finger.

Dale Earnhardt Jr. National Guard Edits

I’m not ALWAYS behind the camera. Sometimes I help move some lights around and edit other photographer’s photos. I’m definitely not above photo assisting. It’s a great way to pick up new techniques, and free food! My superstar friend Douglas Sonders got the call to shoot Dale Earnhardt Jr. and his #88 NASCAR for the National Guard up the road in Charlotte, NC. Besides the obvious benefit of getting to meet Dale Jr., I jumped at the opportunity to help Douglas with the studio shoot. Quantity was the keyword of the day, and we got a BOAT LOAD of diverse images of Dale, his #88 NASCAR, and various soldiers representing the National Guard. The beauty of shooting in a studio is it’s a controlled environment with the ability to knock out many angles in a short amount of time. The Phase One IQ140 camera and ProFoto lights got very little rest from 7am till 7pm as you can see from the behind-the-scenes video:
