How about a little variety sprinkled into my blog? When Photo Director Andrew Link from RIDES Magazine gives me a call, that’s ultimately what I expect. The last time it was for Harley-Davidson, this time it is for 1973 Chevy Caprice from Orangeburg, SC that cranks out 675 horsepower, combined with a 300-shot of nitrous oxide… did I mention the wheels are 28 inches? Like I said, I never know what call I’m going to get next.
DONK magazine likes their images on the gritty, grungy & saturated side. Quite the departure from the natural Porsche shoots I’ve recently come accustomed to. The title is “Subtle Speed Demon”, but in my opinion there is NOTHING subtle about this Chevy.
This shoot was 100% solo. No assistants made the trek with me. I don’t think I’ve done that since my college days. And judging by the size of the car’s owner I probably should have! JK, Mendez and his buddies were great to deal with. I even let one of his friends drive my new VW GTI as I was sprawled out in the back hatch taking rolling shots. Everybody wanted their car in front of the camera, but this day was his.
