Now to one of my more interesting photo subjects, meet Kylie Hinze, the 15 year old singing/songwriting phenom from Greenville, SC. I met Kylie and her family over a year ago and knew right away from her bubbling personality, drive, and natural talent, that she would have a successful career in doing what she loves. At that time I did a behind-the-scenes photos while Kylie was doing a music video. However this time together we did a dedicated photoshoot at the beautiful and historic Lofts of Greenville.
One of the first shots of the day… This pretty much sums up the fun personality Kylie has. She can make a whole room smile with her weird faces or corny jokes.
A liiiiiiiittle more serious this time. AlienBees ABR800 off-camera for key light, and 2 AB1600s for rim lighting.
I’m still blown away at the detail the Canon 5DMKII provides. Hard to believe that this camera is soon to be my backup camera!
A step back from the previous 2 shots. Pretty simple setup in a big wide open room. Sometimes you don’t need a black backdrop to get a dark background.
Wandering around the Lofts, thought we would use one of their massive windows with a little flare.
Awesome stairs, this is what I love about old historic locations.. they are completely unique. The whole building was constructed in the early 1900’s as a cotton mill, and most of the aesthetics are still visible.
1 AB1600 in an octobox overhead as key, and a gridded AB1600 as rim behind the stairs. Simple lighting + awesome location.
This is my try-to-act-15 pose. I know right, it’s super hard to believe I’m nearly twice her age! (ha… haha). BIG thanks to my sister Sarah for assisting. Good Luck Kylie!!
